She goes mentally insane with nobody to help her. The paranoia and internal struggles from committing a murder creates instability in Lady Macbeth's mind. Her thoughts and guilt are in her head. The pressure gets too much by holding onto this secret for a long time. Her guilty conscience caused her to commit suicide.

Lady Macbeth allowed her greediness to impact her actions. This song also expands on the emotions of feeling stuck in an unfortunate situation: "Oh it haunts our days and the fear won't fade, feeling swallowed by the smoke". She regrets her decision because of the hardships that followed.
