Shakespeare is famous for his plays and as a screenwriter. He also introduced new words, called neologisms. Neologisms were created by adding words together at the beginning and end, and changing the tense. These approximately 1700 words were also used as insults and phrases still used today. Lines like "Fight fire with fire" and "Heart of gold" were first said in Shakespeare's plays.
